WJON IP Radio
Based in Northern Virginia, we run a 24/7 IP based radio stream that broadcasts a variety of music, as well as Emergency Alert System alerts from across the United States (and sometimes Canada).
Starting small, we have acquired new equipment and services to enhance our systems. For example, we acquired a SAGE 3644 in 2023, which now makes our station 100% FCC compliant!
We run only over IP radio, and none of our systems relay EAS information over any airwaves (AM/FM/CW/WB). For more information about our EAS policy, please click here.
We are the primary Eastern Relay Station and a secondary Relay Station for the Southeast cluster for GWES ERN, a subsidiary of the Global Weather and EAS Society. We aren’t owned by them, but we do broadcast and receive alerts from them time to time. More information on this can be found at this link.

WJON IP automatically sends a Required Weekly Test (RWT) every Wednesday at 4:20 PM eastern time. We additionally conduct random tests of the other encoders, usually two times a week. These take place regardless of a local monthly EAS test.
